We are always working on early American homes, usually of the Victorian era, repairing lath & plaster, skim coating walls and interior painting. One day however, we were asked to do a special project to restore an interior painted trompe L' oeil painting that covered walls and ceilings. We excepted the challenge and enjoyed every minute. It took almost a year to complete with over 5 miles of "stripes" using mainly 6 shades of color. Below are a few pictures of the project.
"Striping" in the crown molding. The ceiling plaster repair area went on exposed lathe. The original plaster was long gone.
